Quality Control Inspector

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Perform repetitive visual/dimensional inspection operations on a select number mechanical and electronic components.
  • Visually inspect PCB assemblies for use in other electronic equipment utilizing basic tools such as microscopes, magnification, and fine hand tools, as needed.
  • Work from assembly drawings, specifications, bills of material and work instructions to perform in-process inspection duties.
  • Follow detailed instructions and refer to inspection procedures to perform basic inspection duties.
  • Act as point of final inspection ensuring product quality to the end customer.
  • Perform basic receiving inspection/in-process inspection duties with limited instructions and direction of supervisor or working leader.
  • Check and inspect general component layouts, mechanical features, electrical wiring connections, etc for compliance with applicable drawing and specifications.
  • Prepare and complete inspection results and records, as necessary.
  • Verify identification and proper mounting of components.
  • Detect and report any operating difficulties or questionable conditions to Supervisor, Engineering, or Lead.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Responsible for knowing and using proper ESD procedures.
  • Understands their role in following ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing standards.
  • Maintains an organized work environment necessary for efficient operation.
  • Keeps equipment and department neat and clean at all times.
  • Teamwork in a high paced environment to achieve excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of computers.
  • Shows commitment to quality and total customer satisfaction through dedicating skills to achieve zero defect status.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:

 Experience: Mid-level with experience

  • Special Process: Basic background in the understanding of inspection processes of printed circuit board assemblies to meet standards.
  • Ability to learn the PCB assembly inspection process.
  • Knowledge of soldering, assembly drawings, bills of materials, conformal coating, and solder repair desired.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential functions as required. Need to have good eye and hand coordination with color perception.
  • Basic Function: Follows all PCB assembly inspection processes in compliance with IPC-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 standards.
  • Under direct supervision, performs a variety of tasks that require the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions and a thorough knowledge of inspection techniques, solder quality, tools, and equipment.

Preferences:

  • Previous knowledge and skills of inspecting printed circuit board assemblies is preferred but not necessary
  • Inspection of finished products to a high level of quality standards
  • Detail oriented to achieve zero defects
  • Reliable transportation to be at work daily and ready to perform duties as necessary
  • Preferred experience inspecting to AS6081, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001 standards, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling controls.

 Working Hours:

  • Normal work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7am until 5:30pm with lunch and breaks. Some overtime may be required as needed.
